The Financial Fitness for Life companion CD-ROM has two core components. The first is an electronic version of all the print materials - teacher guides, student workouts, and parent guides - for all grade levels K-12. The second component features twelve unique interactive activities based on lessons in the printed materials which are appropriate for classroom use.

Also included on the CD-ROM is Adobe's Acrobat Reader software, which allows you to display, navigate, search, and print the Financial Fitness for Life print curriculum.

Sample activity - grades K-2
In this activity the lesson of earning an income comes to life! Join the Pocket Power Kids Penny and Nicholas as they learn about earning an income in the animated story, "A Very Good Day." Following the story students then have the opportunity to participate in a quiz on the story they just saw.

Sample activity - grades 3-5
What short-term savings goals do you have? How about long-term savings goals? How long will it take you to save for each? In this activity students learn about saving for short-term and long-term goals.

Sample activity - grades 6-8
As consumers we are constantly presented with different economic choices. It's important to be able to determine which choice offers you the greatest economic incentive. This activity focuses on price, a powerful monetary (or economic) incentive. See if you can decide which is the better incentive!

Sample activity - grades 9-12
Knowledgeable investing involves choosing among many alternatives. The first step is to learn the language of investing. In this activity, you'll learn about the various terms associated with investing by completing an interactive quiz. Once you've completed the quiz, you'll have the opportunity to see some simulations of how a steady savings plan can result in some big money by the time you retire -- if you know how the system works!
